This product is often used for nucleic acid electrophoresis. The buffering capacity of this solution is lower than that of TBE buffer, but double-stranded DNA runs faster with TAE buffer. This 50x concentrate can be easily diluted to 1x with molecular biology grade water before use.
Tris Acetate-EDTA buffer concentrate is suitable for use as running buffer for nucleic acid electrophoresis, which may be part of Northern and Southern blot hybridization procedures. It is especially useful for double stranded DNA separations.
