- Features And Benefits
The immobilized carbon filter media alleviates problems by adding activated carbon to the cellulose fiber matrix. This fixed carbon media can be combined with downstream protective filter paper to prevent any possible carbon particles from falling off downstream of the filter.
1. Dechlorination of water
2. Correct the color, odor and odor in distilled spirits
3. Decolorization of sweeteners and syrups
4. Color correction in juice and beer applications
5. Gelatin decolorization and deodorization
The sheet media incorporate activated carbon within a matrix of cellulosic fibers, which can be coupled with a protective filter paper to prevent carbon particle shedding downstream of the filter. Additionally, the immobilized carbon filter media's adsorption efficiency is greater than an equivalent amount of bulk powdered activated carbon (PAC), reducing overall process time and increasing product yield. An internal comparative study using the same carbon grade showed up to 150% better color removal efficiency than bulk PAC.
