The product is a cationic reinforced nylon 6.6 membrane with extremely high tensile strength. The positively charged membrane surface ensures the rapid and effective combination of DNA and RNA. This product is very suitable for DNA/RNA transfer.
Southern- and Northern-blot, Dot-blot, DNA fingerprinting, macro- and microarrays.
1. By baking (80 °C, 15 minutes) or by UV irradiation, nucleic acids can be cross-linked with the membrane.
2. Alkaline transfer does not require cross-linking, because the negatively charged DNA forms a very stable complex with the positively charged nylon membrane.
